It’s last game of Week 17 in the 2018 Super Rugby Season after nearly a month break from International Test Matches.
Jaguares host the DHL Stormers from Cape Town, South Africa at Estadio Jose Amalfitani in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
With two weeks left of regular season action, who will have the upper hand at the 80th minute?
After Nicolas Sanchez kicks off the first Jaguares three points, the home team built on their foundations to even greater heights.
Look at the scrummaging organized by Gonzalo Bertranou; they managed to stay square despite some pressure from the Stormers.
Then Bertranou made a quick ball to Bautista Delguy who boasts so much talent & pace on the right flank.
Delguy too created a tricky move in both feet just like in Soccer past both Dillyn Leyds & Damian De Allende for the TRY.
Nicolas Sanchez’s kick from the right-hand angle looks good for the extra two points.
The Jaguares makes it TRY No.2 against the Stormers.
Sanchez chips into Emiliano Boffelli for the chase before Boffelli feeds the ball to Guido Petti Pagadizaval.
Look at him there in the No.4 shirt; he brings so much pace & power where Dillyn Leyds made it too late to ground him down the TRY line.
The Jaguares have the upper hand thanks to the advantage for the five points.
DHL Stormers fight one back with a TRY over halfway before the break.
Nice pace going forward with the help of Dewaldt Duvenage, Sikhumbuzo Notshe bursts one over the TRY line with tired legs from both Jaguares dummies.
Jean-Luc Du Plessis successfully converts between the sticks with the two-point reward for the visitors.
HALF-TIME: Jaguares 15-7 Stormers
If you can’t get enough of Guido Petti Pagadizaval in the 1st half, here’s one of his classic movements again straight after the break.
The Stormers lost control with the ball which gave Petti Pagadizaval the opportunity to make an intercept & ran over 50-meters trying to run home.
The Jaguares No.4 did avoid Raymond Rhule.
But Mbongeni Mbonami grounded him only meter away from their danger area.
But the Jaguares got one home on time for their third five-point chase when they spread out wide enabling Matias Orlando to finish off on the right flank.
Nicolas Sanchez helped Orlando claim the five points; he too picked up two points with another successful kick for the home side.
The Stormers found another way past the Jaguares defense, but it’s too little, too late.
Jean-Luc Du Plessis sets up the attack from Duvenage before Dillyn Leyds pasts three Jaguares dummies with a much-needed TRY.
Du Plessis called out for flexibility on the right flank.
It allowed Leyds to go aggressive before blindsiding their defense safe past the goal line.
Great job from the Stormers Fly-Half who helped Leyds have the license to thrill & successfully kicked past the sticks.
However, it’s too little, too late as the Jaguares win at home against the DHL Stormers.
The final score is 25-14 at Estadio Jose Amalfitani in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Jaguares will now have a two-week tour in the Republic.
Next Saturday, the Bulls will host the Argentinians at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
Then in the final regular-season Week 19 game, they will travel from Pretoria to Durban to face the Sharks at Jonsson Kings Park.
Should they keep up the winning form in either or both of those games, the Jaguares are well placed to advance into the Quarter-Finals.
Meanwhile, the DHL Stormers will face their last regular-season game next Saturday.
That’s where they will host the Cell C Sharks at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town at 1.15 AM AEST.
