ESPN is soon about to lose one of its downgraded NASCAR team members this season.
Last month, the Worldwide Leader got rid of Bob Pockrass.
Although, Pockrass is still writing articles for this company as does Riley McGree & Marty Smith.
But one person will leave & jump ship to one of NASCAR’s current TV rights holders.
You’re talking about Ricky Craven.
Craven’s about to head off to Fox Sports in time for their return of RaceHub over the next fortnight.
We don’t know what roles Craven will do on FOX’s NASCAR telecast.
However, expect him to pop up mainly on their flagship shows whether it’s during the week or a race weekend.
Plus Craven should appear at some XFINITY and Truck Series events in the booth.
It’s a long time coming for Craven having last commentated back in 2014 when ESPN last broadcast NASCAR.
Even though ESPN lost the rights, Craven spent each post-race giving his insights and opinion via SportsCenter since then until the end of last season.
Now, he won’t have to travel much to Connecticut as the FOX NASCAR studios in Charlotte isn’t far away from home.
So having to add some extra steel regarding a pool of insiders like Craven will improve FOX’s NASCAR product both studio and race track setting.
In the meantime, everyone came in to pay tribute to Craven’s services to ESPN which marked 12 years.
