Lilly Diabetes’ exit from Roush Fenway Racing’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Team leaves Ryan Reed clueless about his 2019 plans

It’s a shame that Lilly Diabetes will not return as the primary sponsor of the No.16 Ford in 2019.

That throws out Ryan Reed of the Roush Fenway Racing’s XFINITY Series organization.

First of all, he came from a long way, away when Reed was first diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes back in 2011.

At one point, Reed that would never race again as told once before.

But Reed defied the odds when he found a doctor that would help manage diabetes while still race.

He gets regularly checked each time he hopes on a race car in which it’s incredible for Reed to fulfill his dreams.

That’s where Roush Fenway Racing gave him a ride in the No.16 Ford for the next five years at XFINITY Series level.

One of his notable achievements is winning the season-opener Daytona Races during February:

  • 2015
  • 2017

Reed finished no worse than 12th in every season he competed regarding the Drivers’ Standings.

Plus he made a couple of Top 5 & 10 along the way in 167 races:

  • Seven Top 5
  • 26 Top 10

Yes, he may not have the best times inside the race car.

But Reed’s a fantastic bloke outside the race track helping out patients who suffer the same symptoms as him.

Plus he held many charitable events to help raise Type 1 Diabetes Research.

Ryan Reed’s 2019 Plans

It’s unlikely that Lilly Diabetes will continue to sponsor any on-track team.

Although, they will stay on with NASCAR as the Official Diabetes Health Partner.

Reed now hopes to move on & finally make his way into the Cup scene at last.

Though, he would need some support from any other sponsor to help him race full-time & do the best he can.

For now, he’s looking forward to steering his No.16 Ford home during these last four races of 2018.

At the same time, we’ll see who will be Ryan Reed’s replacement in the No.16 Roush Fenway NXS Ford for 2019.
